Winners Announced in Excelsior Equity Scholarship Program Funded by The MolinaCares Accord

BOTHELL, Wash., Dec. 14 2022 — The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Washington (“Molina”), recently provided $1,000 each to 16 students through the Excelsior Equity Scholarship Program.
The program was designed to create educational opportunities for black and indigenous people of color enrolled in advanced degree programs.
“At Excelsior Wellness, we share MolinaCares’ commitment to eliminating systematic inequities. We are proud to recognize this group of students who are pursuing advanced degrees in criminal justice, education, and healthcare,” said Andrew Hill, CEO of Excelsior Wellness. “We look forward to the impact they will make.”
The grant was part of the MolinaCares Behavioral Health Initiative, a philanthropic initiative announced in December 2021, as part of an effort to expand access to behavioral health across Washington.

Winners of the Excelsior Equity Scholarship included Hazel Brogdon, Brandon LaPlante, Chen Ng, Jose Diaz, Haydee Gutierrez, Teresa Eggleston, Ivan Cibrian, Michael Jara, Mary Musoke, Johnny Hernandez Martinez, Alexander Edgmond, Marcoantonio Caballero-Castillo and Tanisha Taylor.
