Virtual Panel: Empowering Pathways to a Healthy and Resilient Florida

The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Florida, hosted a virtual panel on November 13, 2023, focused on collaborative approaches to Empowering Pathways to a Healthy and Resilient Florida.
Dr. Mark Bloom, Molina Healthcare of Florida’s chief medical officer, hosted the discussion, with a keynote from Florida State Senator Corey Simon (R-District 3). Dara Kam, a senior capitol correspondent with News Service of Florida and host of the popular podcast – Deeper Dive with Dara – moderated the panel discussion.
Dr. Bloom opened the panel stating, “As Molina’s chief medical officer, I have seen first-hand, the positive impact made by our community-based partners who are on the ground providing residents with the resources they need. The MolinaCares Accord is our commitment to improving the lives and well-being of our communities by supporting these types of organizations and programs that bring meaningful and effective services to those who need it most.”
Expert panelists included Cathe Dykstra, CEO of Family Scholar House; Michael Overway, executive director of the Lee and Collier County Homeless Coalition; and Christine Coronado, associate director of financial wellness for Branches.
Recently, The MolinaCares Accord and Molina Healthcare of Florida launched its MolinaCares for a Healthy Florida initiative investing over $700,000 to improve access to behavioral health, maternal child health, and health related social needs including resiliency programs and resources for Florida’s families.
