Virtual Panel: Health, Wellness and Equity in California’s LGBTQ+ Community

The MolinaCares Accord, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of California, hosted a virtual panel on Addressing Health, Wellness, and Equity in California’s LGBTQ+ Community. California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara offered welcoming remarks before a panel of experts moderated by Equality California program manager Dr. Shannon Kozlovich.

Expert panelists included Craig Pulsipher, associate director of government affairs at APLA Health; Thomi Clinton, chief executive officer of the Transgender Health and Wellness Center; Amanda McAllister-Wallner, director at California LGBT Health and Human Services Network; and Gerald Garth, chief operations officer at the AMAAD Institute.

Panelists addressed topics of improving overall health and wellness, strategies to address the impacts of COVID, HIV, trans health and healthcare, access to care and treatment for vulnerable individuals, the health needs of LGBTQ+ people of color, and LGBTQ+ health policy and advocacy.
