SANTA FE, N.M. – Dec. 7, 2022 – The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of New Mexico (“Molina”) presented Many Mothers with a check for $25,000 to increase bilingual capacity and provide direct wraparound services to more Spanish-speaking families at the organization’s Santa Fe Parenting Center. The grant is part of the MolinaCares for Families initiative, in which MolinaCares has committed over $400,000 to various community-based organizations to improve access to care statewide.
This funding will enable Many Mothers to allot additional hours to its Home Visitor program, which provides direct in-home services to Spanish-speaking families. It will also help to recruit and train additional Spanish-speaking volunteers and provide expanded navigation support to families in Santa Fe.
“As a mother myself, this organization is near and dear to my heart,” said Carolyn Ingram, plan president for Molina Healthcare of New Mexico. “One of the most pressing issues for New Mexicans is access to care, especially maternal and child health care. We are honored to partner with Many Mothers to help provide resources directly to new moms and their babies.”
“Our Santa Fe Parenting Center will be a centralized location for resources, allowing us to support perinatal families in the Santa Fe area,” said Kai Forsley, executive director for Many Mothers. “We are grateful to MolinaCares for its efforts to improve access to critical services for New Mexico mothers and children.”
MolinaCares recently premiered a video highlighting the services provided through this grant and the impact this partnership will have on families in the Santa Fe-area, which you can view here.
