LONG BEACH, Calif., April 7, 2021 – The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina), partnered with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis (First District) to donate thousands of N95 and surgical masks to local residents, community groups, and providers.

“We are proud to team up with our community and legislative partners, including Supervisor Solis, who are working hard to improve public health throughout Los Angeles County,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California.

Board Chair Solis is leading critical efforts in Los Angeles County, as Chair of the Board of Supervisors, in providing PPE in the ongoing fight against COVID-19. Most recently, she directed the County’s Emergency Operations Center in coordination with other county departments to identify and distribute surplus PPE to residents, service workers, and businesses, with a focus on hotspot areas.

“We still have a long way to go on the road to recovery and Los Angeles County is leading the way to ensure that our most vulnerable populations have the resources they need,” said Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis, Supervisor to the First District. “We know the best method of reducing COVID transmission is by the use of a mask among other sanitary measures. For residents in low-income areas like my district, individuals may not have the resources to continue purchasing PPE. Partnerships with organizations like MolinaCares are critical to ensure our communities stay safe and healthy with the essential items of today.”
