LOS ANGELES, May 21, 2021 – The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in partnership with Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina), and Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell (2nd District) teamed up to donate and distribute 2,000 N95 masks and 2,000 surgical masks to local community organizations and providers in need.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to support Supervisor Mitchell’s ongoing efforts to improve the health and safety of Los Angeles County residents by providing PPE,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California.

The PPE was distributed to people and families in the 2nd district and residents throughout Los Angeles County.

“I am proud to partner with MolinaCares, the City of Lynwood, and Lynwood Unified School District in distributing PPE to the residents who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic,” said Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell. “While there has been a steady decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths, we are not out of the woods yet. Vaccinations and donations of PPE supplies for our most vulnerable populations are critical to reopening our communities, which have been devastated by this virus.”

Supervisor Mitchell is committed to supporting residents, small businesses, and nonprofits that have been severely impacted by COVID-19.
