The MolinaCares Accord Donates $15,000 to Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring & Empowerment Initiative
Rochester, N.Y. – July 26, 2021 – The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of New York (“Molina”), donated $15,000 to the Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring & Empowerment Initiative in support of an 6-week children’s cooking program that will teach kids in the community about seasonal cooking, nutrition, farming, and the environment, so they and their families can live healthier lives.
Presented in partnership with Passport to the World Club, the program, presented via Zoom cooking classes, will include lessons on how to measure ingredients, read recipes, labels, and more. Participants will receive a health and wellness journal, an apron, kitchen tools, a weekly cultural and culinary newsletter, downloadable recipes and complimentary produce and groceries.
The Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring & Empowerment Initiative provides teens in poverty with the critical support and accountability necessary to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
“Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring & Empowerment Initiative appreciates MolinaCares’ generous donation” said Christopher Rush, executive director of the Champion Academy Extreme Mentoring & Empowerment Initiative. “We are excited about this opportunity to help educate youth on cooking nutritious meals, practicing healthy eating habits and learning about various cultures.”
