BOISE, Idaho, Aug. 6, 2026 – The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Idaho (“Molina”), presented a $20,000 grant to The Idaho Foodbank in support of hunger relief efforts to address food insecurity in Idaho. In previous years, Molina employees have also volunteered to pack and distribute food to Idaho residents in need.

Food insecurity remains a significant challenge in Idaho. In 2023, over 250,000 Idahoans, including over 75,000 children, did not have consistent access to nutritious food. Consistent access to healthy food supports children’s growth, learning, and ability to stay focused and engaged. The summer months can be especially difficult when school is out, and access to regular school-based meals is disrupted.

“This donation is critical to advancing our vision of a hunger-free Idaho,” said Morgan Wilson, chief development officer at The Idaho Foodbank. “We believe in the power of collaboration to build resilient and thriving communities. With support from partners like Molina, we can bring meaningful food and nutrition programs to families across Idaho.”

This grant supports The Idaho Foodbank’s efforts to procure, store, and distribute over 25 million pounds of food statewide throughout the year. With this donation, Idahoans will have access to food assistance programs that strengthen families and community health.

“Access to nutritious food plays a vital role in overall health – helping reduce the risk of chronic disease and certain cancers while improving energy and mood,” said Brandon Hendrickson, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Idaho. “Our partnership with Idaho Foodbank reflects our commitment to supporting Idaho kids and families with the nutrition they need to stay healthy, build strong habits, and succeed.”

This partnership builds on The MolinaCares Accord’s (“MolinaCares”) broader investment in Idaho communities. Earlier this year, The MolinaCares Accord, a community investment platform funded by the Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, announced its MolinaCares for Idaho Families initiative, committing over $250,000 to community partnerships, including The Idaho Foodbank, focused on improving access to supports and healthcare services across the state.
