CHICAGO, April 1, 2026 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Illinois (“Molina”), awarded a $10,000 grant to Pui Tak Center’s Disability Services program, providing support for 70 families in Chicago’s Chinatown community that are caring for loved ones with disabilities.
Asian American caregivers face unique barriers to accessing services, including language obstacles, developmental disability-related stigma, knowledge of available services, and financial challenges. To address this need, Pui Tak Center created its Disability Services program, offering case management to connect parents to essential services, providing family support, and delivering life skills training for young adults living with disabilities.
“Our Disability Services program was created to address a growing need within the Asian American community,” said David Wu, executive director at Pui Tak Center’s Disability Services program. “Through our partnership with Molina, this grant is helping us train more staff to deliver services, expanding our reach and connecting more families to the care and resources they need to support their loved ones.”

This investment came during Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in March, a time dedicated to promoting the inclusion of individuals living with disabilities across all aspects of community life. Through this funding, Molina is helping expand access to critical services that promote independence, community integration, and connection for families navigating a disability.
“This grant will fund staffing, transportation, and family scholarships for weeklong retreats, reinforcing our commitment to a continuum of care that improves health and wellbeing,” said Kris Classen, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Illinois. “Together, we’re connecting families with meaningful resources that make it easier to navigate and access disability services.”
This latest investment is part of the over $5 million that Molina and The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation have contributed in Illinois over the past two years to community organizations that play a vital role in strengthening health across the state.
