LOUISVILLE, Ky., November 29, 2021 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Passport Health Plan by Molina Healthcare (“Passport”), announced a total of $45,000 in donations today to Louisville nonprofits, the Rajon Rondo Foundation and Evolve502.

The Foundation’s $20,000 donation to the Rajon Rondo Foundation will support the Community Locker Room Project, which incentivizes local students in need to reach educational milestones. The funding will also increase access to other educational activities, including STEM programs and chess, for students in low-income households.

“We know that one of the main barriers to improving the health and quality of life for our members is adequate education at an early age,” said Ryan Sadler, plan president of Passport Health Plan by Molina Healthcare. “We are so proud to sponsor the Rajon Rondo Foundation and help our youngest Kentuckians overcome this barrier through greater access to educational resources and support.”

The Rajon Rondo Foundation was established by Louisville native, former University of Kentucky basketball star and NBA champion Rajon Rondo, to provide support, education and mentorship to young people.

“Partners like Molina make it possible for us to continue increasing educational opportunities for students in need,” said Yvette Gentry, executive director of the Rajon Rondo Foundation. “We are always looking to engage more of our local youth and support them in their education so they can have a strong foundation for the future. This generous gift makes these initiatives possible and for that we are extremely grateful.”

The MolinaCares Healthcare Charitable Foundation also announced a $25,000 donation to Evolve502 that will help provide tuition assistance to Jefferson County Public School graduates pursuing postsecondary education.

“Access to education is linked to higher lifetime earnings, longer life expectancy and better overall health outcomes. Evolve502’s efforts to provide tuition-free, postsecondary education to Jefferson County students will have a transformative impact on individual lives and the entire community,” said Sadler.

“We are grateful for Molina’s support in addressing equity gaps in education and ensuring more of our students have the skills, training and education they need to be successful in the workforce,” said Marland Cole, executive director with Evolve502.

Check presentations for both organizations took place today at the Metro United Way in Louisville.
