LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 4, 2026 – Passport by Molina Healthcare (“Passport”) distributed personal care products to over 1,500 students in eight Jefferson County Public Schools. The hygiene kits were delivered to Perry, Cane Run, Frayser, and Watterson elementary schools. Central and Doss high schools as well as Thomas Jefferson and Newburg middle schools received the kits. The giveaways focused on schools with a larger number of students who qualify for free- or reduced-price lunch based on National School Lunch Program household income eligibility guidelines. Approximately two out of three students in the district would be eligible for the program associated with income levels near the federal poverty line.

The hygiene kits bridge a needs gap often overlooked during back-to-school events that offer free school supplies. The kits contain shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other items.

“We work every day to remove barriers for our students so they can focus on learning, and we are excited to have Passport as a partner in that effort,” said Keisha Fulson, principal of Perry Elementary. “Addressing hygiene reduces the risk of chronic illnesses that can result in lost learning time, leaving students behind in their academic journey. Passport’s investment today is an investment in the future of our community.”

“When principals and teachers told us what they needed for their students, we listened; and a frequent request was for hygiene items,” said Ashley Duncan, AVP of community engagement for Passport by Molina Healthcare. “Passport is committed to improving the well-being of the communities it serves and meeting these fundamental needs helps foster wellness.”
