IRVING, Tex., Dec. 31, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas Grandparents Social Club and Heritage Senior Center hosted an educational event on seasonal depression for local seniors.

As the days get shorter and temperatures drop, many experience changes in mood and energy. To help seniors find out how to combat seasonal depression, this free event featured an informative presentation on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) — also known as seasonal depression.

Attendees learned about its causes, symptoms, and effective ways to cope. The presentation touched on the following topics:

  • Why seasonal depression happens
  • Signs and symptoms to look for
  • Evidence-based treatments and coping strategies
  • How to support yourself or someone you care about

Following the presentation, participants had a chance to ask questions. Educational resources were also available.
