IRVING, Tex., Nov. 12, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas’ Grandparents Social Club, together with Heritage Senior Center, hosted a diabetes awareness event that also focused on caregiver burnout.
This free event featured a presentation on understanding diabetes, its risk factors, management strategies and lifestyle changes that can make an impact. It also included caregiver support information such as tips on how to identify the signs of caregiver burnout, as well as techniques to help caregivers cope, especially while caring for a loved one with a serious illness.
In a U.S. survey, about 39% of U.S. adults reported they were caregivers for an adult or child with significant health issues. About 40.7% of caregivers reported having two or more chronic diseases themselves, which highlights the burden caregivers often carry.
This session offered a supportive environment to discuss practical strategies for self care and stress management. Information on resources and support available in the Irving area were also distributed. Light refreshments were provided.
