Molina Healthcare of Texas and Partners Host Senior Health and Resource Fair in Tyler

TYLER, Tex., Sept. 24, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas and valued community partners hosted Fresh and Fit, a health and resource fair for seniors at the Tyler Senior Center. This free event aimed to empower local seniors to take charge of their health with vital health screenings, nutrition support, wellness activities and more – all in one convenient location. The fair featured:

30 – 40 community partners dedicated to improving the health and well-being of senior adults
On-site cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose screenings
Healthy food demonstrations
Fresh fruit distribution
Mini stretching sessions
Community resources with information on services, including: medical equipment, mental health, transportation options, and more
Door prizes and wellness giveaways

According to Feeding Texas, 13.6% of Texas seniors are food-insecure — the highest rate in the nation. Food insecurity among seniors is closely linked to worsening chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.

By providing access to critical services like Meals on Wheels, vital health screenings, and more, this fair helped to bridge gaps and connect seniors to the support they need.
