IRVING, Tex., Oct. 9, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas’ Grandparents Social Club, together with Breanna Hervey-Smith, a third-year dental student at Texas A&M Dental School, presented Oral Health at Any Age to seniors from Heritage Senior Center.
As individuals age, proper oral health is vital to maintaining one’s overall well-being. Oral Infections like gum disease can contribute to serious health issues including heart disease, stroke, complications of diabetes, respiratory infections and more.
Ignoring symptoms can lead to inflammation and infections that can put a strain on the body’s immune system, something that is especially problematic for older adults with existing health conditions. Regular dental checkups, proper cleaning of dentures, and prompt treatment of oral infections are all critical to protecting a senior’s overall health.
This free event featured valuable information on oral health, including how partial dentures can not only restore confidence and improve one’s ability to chew, but also play a role in preventing further complications by helping to avert shifting teeth, jaw problems, and speech difficulties.
Attendees also learned about low-cost dental services and resources available in their community. Light refreshments were provided.
