Molina Healthcare of Texas and Partners Host Fall Prevention Event for Seniors in Houston

HOUSTON, Tex., Sept. 24, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas, together with Council Member Sallie Alcorn and other community partners, hosted a fall prevention event at Sunnyside Health and Multi-Service Center in Houston in honor of Fall Prevention Awareness Week (September 22 – 26).

Each year, about 1 in 4 adults aged 65 and older experiences a fall, leading to over 3 million emergency department visits and nearly 1 million hospitalizations in the U.S. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths in this age group, with the rate increasing significantly with age.

This free educational event offered seniors tips on safety in the home and information on how to avoid life-changing accidents that could dramatically affect one’s health and well-being. It also included tips to help aging seniors improve their strength and balance and take proactive measures to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The event also featured snacks, raffle prizes, line dancing and other fun activities.
