Molina Healthcare of Texas and Legacy Community Health Help Houston-Area Families Prepare for the New School Year

PASADENA, Texas, Aug. 17, 2026 – Molina Healthcare of Texas, in partnership with Legacy Community Health, recently hosted a back-to-school event for families across Houston and surrounding communities, helping connect underserved residents with valuable educational, healthcare and community resources ahead of the new school year.
The free event was designed to support families as they prepare for a healthy and successful school year by providing access to school supplies, health information and community-based services. Attendees enjoyed a variety of family-friendly activities, including a photo booth, snack station, lunch bag and book giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local community resource organizations.
More than 300 backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to children and families attending the event, as well as during well-child visits. Families also received information about healthcare services and resources available throughout the community.
Legacy Community Health leaders emphasized the importance of partnerships that help meet the needs of local families. “Thank you to Molina for being here and supporting this event,” said Timmy Martinez, vice president of major gifts and planned giving at Legacy Community Health. “It is such a joyful moment to see families come together and receive the support they need.
