Molina Healthcare of Texas and Houston Health Department Host a Series of Farmers Markets and Resource Fairs for Underserved Families Across Houston

Sept. 9, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Texas, together with the Houston Health Department, is hosting a series of farmers markets and resource fairs in underserved areas of Houston. The series began in March and continues through October. These “Get Moving” events aim to help aging adults access seasonally fresh fruits and vegetables.
Part of the Houston Health Department voucher program, which gives underserved seniors a $50 benefit to utilize at the farmers markets, the events are open to voucher recipients, as well as the general public. Molina is participating as the health plan partner at 50 of the farmers market and resource fair events, serving between 100 and 150 people at each location.
Other on-site partners include Houston Metro, Houston Health Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention, and the Houston Food Bank.
