LAS VEGAS – March 18, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Nevada (“Molina”) and BeMe Health (“BeMe”) have teamed up to provide on-demand support to Molina Medicaid youth through BeMe’s behavioral health app. Users ages 13-19 can access content tailored to their current mood, engage in skill-building activities, and receive personalized coaching via text directly within the app in a safe and supportive environment. Additionally, they can connect to clinical services and 24/7 crisis support.
Access to behavioral health support is an ongoing gap in Nevada. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, nearly 2.5 million Nevadans live in a community that does not have enough mental health professionals. It is estimated that 73.7% of Nevada youth with major depressive episodes did not receive the mental health treatment they need.
“As a psychiatrist and family physician, I have seen firsthand the behavioral health struggles our young people face and the barriers that can stand in their way to accessing care,” said Dr. Nima Alinejad, chief medical officer for Molina Healthcare of Nevada. “By partnering with BeMe, we are excited to offer our young members a platform that is easy to use and modeled after the mobile platforms they are already familiar with, which ensures we are meeting them where they are with the support they need.”
In a recent assessment conducted in collaboration with Stanford University, 84% of users of the BeMe tool acknowledged its positive impact on self-esteem, with 90% finding the platform’s content beneficial, and 84% expressing the effectiveness of the included coaching. A subsequent pilot evaluation showed users of the tool reported a 20% reduction in moderate or severe anxiety and an 11% decrease in moderate or severe depression.
“By partnering with Molina Healthcare of Nevada, we are seamlessly offering our mobile platform to even more youth experiencing behavioral health challenges,” said Nicki Tessler, PsyD, MBA, CEO and co-founder of BeMe Health. “We look forward to the impact of this collaboration on improving the overall health and wellbeing of young Nevadans.”
