OMAHA, Neb., August 28, 2026 – Molina Healthcare of Nebraska (“Molina”) officially opened its first Molina Mini Pantry in Midtown. Located outside the Molina One-Stop Resource Center at 3301 Harney Street, the small pantry offers 24/7, zero-barrier access to food and essentials for anyone in need.

According to Feeding America’s latest data, an estimated 92,420 Douglas County residents experience food insecurity, representing 15.6% of the population. This marks a 64.7% increase from five years prior. The growing need, specifically in the Midtown area, was the impetus for the pantry.  Molina plans to install pantries in other strategic locations throughout the state in the future.

“Removing barriers to basic needs is a critical part of Molina’s commitment to the wellness of the communities it serves, and this pantry eliminates time and other obstacles impeding food security,” said Frank Clepper, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Nebraska. “This is a no-questions-asked access point that provides a reprieve from hunger and a glimmer of hope.”

The One-Stop Resource Center opened in 2024 to offer Molina members and the community access to a variety of resources. Molina members can meet face-to-face with a representative to discuss benefits and other health matters. The center also hosts community wellness workshops and events throughout the year and serves as a hub for addressing social drivers of health. The center houses an Access Period Cabinet, where individuals can pick up a three-month supply of period products at no cost, and it offers free STI testing in partnership with the Nebraska AIDS Project. Together, these services reduce barriers to care and connect individuals with essential resources that support their health and well-being.
