Molina Healthcare of Nebraska Hosts Women’s Health Fair in North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Molina Healthcare of Nebraska (“Molina”) held an event focused on the mental, physical and emotional well-being of women in Lincoln County. The Women’s Health Fair at the West Central Research and Excention building offered education about health resources and information from community partners like West Central District Health Department, Families 1st Partnership and Hope Esperanza.
According to a report from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services on Improving Mental and Behavioral Health for Women, suicide was the leading cause of death among women aged 15-44. The Nebraska suicide rate for that age group (8.6 per 100,000 women) is higher than the national rate (7.3), highlighting the need to increase mental health services for women and connect them to those services before a crisis occurs.
