Molina Healthcare of Nebraska Hosts Birthday Bash for Children Experiencing Homelessness in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. September 30, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Nebraska (“Molina”), hosted a birthday celebration for children staying at the People’s City Mission shelter. Kids enjoyed a bounce house, snow cones, cupcakes, and making Halloween shirts. Every child also received a birthday goodie bag.
The People’s City Mission is Lincoln’s largest homeless shelter housing 350 men, women, and children on an average day. It provides emergency and transitional housing to both men and families, including single mothers. Nearly 1 out of every 5 individuals experiencing homelessness served in the state is a child. Over 55,000 Nebraska children live in poverty. Lincoln Public Schools reported in 2024, over 850 students were identified as experiencing homelessness, with 40% living in shelters.
