OMAHA, Neb., October 13, 2025 – Employee volunteers from Molina Healthcare of Nebraska (“Molina”) came together to assemble 100 hygiene kits for individuals reentering the community after incarceration. The effort was part of the health plan’s partnership with RISE, Nebraska’s largest nonprofit focused solely on habilitative programming in prisons and reentry support. The items were donated by Molina and included essentials such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, laundry detergent and shaving cream.
The hygiene kits are a part of RISE’s reentry services, where incarcerated individuals begin receiving support a year before their scheduled release. Those who participate in and graduate from the in-prison part of the program have the support of a community navigator who assists with obtaining access to post-release needs such as healthcare, substance abuse services and clothing. The graduate continues to work towards obtaining and maintaining employment as well as being an active member of the community.
“RISE is incredibly grateful to Molina for supporting our clients in such a meaningful way,” said Erica Raetz, director of reentry services for RISE. “These kits provide crucial support during a time of significant transition, allowing individuals to focus on rebuilding their lives rather than worrying about basic personal care needs.”
“Incarcerated individuals face many obstacles to wellness when they reenter society, and Molina wanted to help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with acquiring basic essentials,” said Frank Clepper, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Nebraska. “I’m grateful to the Molina employees who volunteered their time to support RISE’s great work in our community.”
