OMAHA, Neb., March 12, 2026 – Molina Healthcare of Nebraska (“Molina”) presented a $15,000 grant to the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Advancement (“CIRA”) in support of its emergency fund and to strengthen ties between immigrants and their communities. CIRA is a nonprofit organization that provides legal and social services for refugees in Omaha.
Approximately 7.7% of Nebraskans are foreign-born, and 4.3% of its U.S.-born residents live with at least one immigrant parent. Research shows Nebraska resettled more refugees per capita than any other state over a 10-year period. In that time, eligibility for federal assistance programs has tightened, with some immigrants being excluded from benefits. This Molina donation will support CIRA’s emergency fund which assists families with basic needs and housing while they navigate legal processes.
“This meaningful partnership strengthens our ability to stand with families in moments of crisis and to celebrate the cultures and contributions that make our community vibrant,” said Rose Margrave, director of development, Center for Immigrant and Refugee Advancement. “We are deeply grateful for Molina’s investment in stability and belonging.”
“Molina is committed to the health and well-being of the communities it serves and this grant helps meet the immediate needs of families facing challenging circumstances,” said Frank Clepper, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Nebraska. “We are pleased to support CIRA’s work and those they serve.”
A portion of the Molina donation was used to support CIRA’s Welcome Fest, a new event for the organization which brought residents from across Omaha together for dancing, music and storytelling as well as a global bazaar featuring handmade items and foods.
