Molina Healthcare of Michigan Co-hosts Flint Food Box Giveaway

FLINT, Mich. March 15, 2021 — Molina Healthcare of Michigan (“Molina”), in partnership with the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV), recently hosted the Flint Fresh Food Box Giveaway, providing food boxes to the first 100 families in under 30 minutes.

Molina distributed additional supplies at the March 11 drive-through event held at the Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village. Pre-assembled totes with hygiene kits, personal protective equipment (PPE) and health education materials were given to participants.

“Even though we have a vaccine and COVID-19 case numbers are diminishing, many Flint families are still very much in need. Helping to feed and protect our residents is something we are truly grateful for,” said Kevin Mays, marketing director at SBEV. “Molina is a valued partner in our efforts to meet the most critical needs of those in our community.”

“At Molina, we’re committed to meeting the fundamental needs of Michiganders,” said Heidi Mcglinnen, associate vice president of community engagement at Molina Healthcare of Michigan. “We were honored to support the city of Flint through this special event.”
