MIAMI, July 2 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Florida (“Molina”) announced a grant to Family Scholar House in support of its FSH Works program, designed to create cycles of success by promoting and supporting a path to sustained employment and career growth for Floridians through academic and career coaching and skills development programs.
Molina’s investment, totaling $11,500, will enable FSH Works to offer 72 hours per week of on-demand virtual support for benefit assessments, applications for government programs, career planning, access to apprenticeships and credentialing, and support in addressing barriers such as transportation and childcare. FSH staff are able to meet members in real time in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole, with additional languages available through translation services.
“Addressing unemployment and underemployment is essential to improving community well-being,” said Bill Hinsdale, plan president, Molina Healthcare of Florida. “Molina proudly supports the FSH Works program and is pleased to help expand its benefits to a larger number of Miami-Dade County residents.”
“We are excited to partner with Molina Healthcare of Florida to expand access to the wrap-around services that empower families to overcome barriers, pursue education, and thrive in the workforce,” said Sarah Brady, president, FSH Works. “Together, we’re building healthier, more self-sufficient communities.”
Family Scholar House currently supports families in Homestead, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, and West Palm, where in-person activities take place with partners that include affordable housing property owners, colleges and universities, and other community organizations. The individuals served are predominantly low-income, with 93% living at very-low or low-income levels and 88% experiencing food insecurity.
