MIAMI, July 9, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of Florida (“Molina”) announced a donation of $25,000 to South Florida Institute on Aging (“SoFIA”), a community organization supporting older adults and their families through volunteer-driven programs promoting independence, connection, and well-being. SoFIA provides services including companionship and respite care, digital literacy training, caregiver support, and community education.
This investment offers Molina members the opportunity to achieve a higher purpose by volunteering through SoFIA to provide services to older adults. Through this initiative, volunteers will address social isolation and caregiver stress—two significant challenges facing the aging population.
“Social engagement for seniors is a significant determinant of physical and well-being, and Molina is proud to invest in SoFIA’s work to support aging Floridians,” said Bill Hinsdale, plan president for Molina Healthcare of Florida. “This provides Molina member volunteers with a way to positively impact the lives of those who have given so much to their community.”
“We’re excited to partner with Molina Healthcare of Florida to expand opportunities for meaningful volunteerism,” said Cresha Reid, president and CEO of South Florida Institute on Aging. “This collaboration allows us to connect passionate Molina members with older adults in need of support, proving that when we come together as a community, we can reduce isolation, empower families, and build lasting impact.”
The grant is part of a broader investment campaign, in collaboration with the MolinaCares Accord, to six area nonprofits committed to improving birth outcomes, educational attainment, housing stability, work readiness, financial sustainability, and healthy aging.
