Molina Healthcare of California and Partners Host Community Baby Shower in Mecca

MECCA, Calif., May 19, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of California, together with Riverside County Family Resource Center and First 5 Riverside County Children and Families Commission, hosted a community baby shower for new and expecting moms in Mecca.
The free event aimed to empower moms and families and connect them to valuable programs and resources to improve their overall health and well-being.
“Molina is grateful for the opportunity to support local moms to promote both maternal and infant health,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California. “We appreciate our community partners that share our commitment to improving the health of young families and connecting them to the resources they need to thrive.”
The celebration featured information on doulas, car seat safety, post-partum anxiety, and more. Attendees were able to participate in a mindfulness activity with breathing exercises to help manage stress, as well as a painting activity.
“As trusted hubs in communities throughout the county, Family Resource Centers offer local families access to vital resources,” said Michael Knight, assistant director for First 5 Riverside County. “Our partnership with Molina to support expecting families highlights the success of our ‘No Wrong Door’ approach, ensuring seamless and comprehensive support for every family we serve.”
