Molina Healthcare of California and Bienestar is Well-Being to Host Community Discussion Focused on Food Recovery for Stronger Communities
SACRAMENTO, October 30, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina”) and Bienestar is Well-Being (“Bienestar”), a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing hunger and food insecurity throughout California, recently hosted a presentation and community discussion designed to raise awareness and share initiatives created to expand food recovery and distribution programs.
Molina and Bienestar have joined forces for the last two years to increase access to fresh produce to those in need, donating over 1.8M pounds of fresh produce in 9 communities throughout San Diego, Sacramento and L.A. counties. The two organizations have also teamed up to recover over 650,000 pounds of surplus food in Sacramento. Together, they aim to impact one million Californians by Dec. 2027 through expanded food recovery and distribution networks.
Bienestar is Well-Being hosts daily food distributions Monday through Friday at several sites and Molina volunteers have supported many of these events as part of the organizations’ ongoing partnership.
