Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation Donates $35,000 to Family Scholar House to Help Connect Kentuckians to Critical Resources

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Aug. 16, 2023 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare  (“Passport”), announced today a $35,000 donation to Family Scholar House. The grant funds kiosks that will expand access to MyKY.info, a web-based app that connects Kentuckians to free community resources and crisis support.

After a successful launch in Louisville as LouieConnect.com, Family Scholar House expanded the app’s reach to all of Kentucky and renamed it MyKY.info in July 2022. Based on location, this safety net app directs users to resources such as food pantries, overnight housing, infant care necessities, local hospitals, and much more. Individuals in crisis can be connected through the app to a response center for immediate help. MyKY.info can be accessed at local kiosks, on a computer or smart phone and is offered in English, Spanish, and French.

“We are proud to partner with Family Scholar House to expand this important service so that more Kentuckians can access the help they need when they need it most,” said Ryan Sadler, plan president of Passport by Molina Healthcare. “Our One Stop Help Centers provide valuable resources, learning opportunities and support to our members. The addition of MyKy.info kiosks aligns with our goal of promoting the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

In 2022, Passport opened six One Stop Help Centers in Bowling Green, Covington, Hazard, Lexington, Louisville, and Owensboro. The centers offer education and training opportunities from community-based organizations as well as face-to-face member support with accessing health care and community resources.

The web-based app extends the reach of Family Scholar House to further its mission of empowering families to end cycles of poverty and violence by fostering life-long self-sufficiency. Supporting single moms and dads, Family Scholar House, through its holistic continuum of care, helps individuals meet their educational, career, and family goals. For many, the MyKY.info experience is their first introduction to the services Family Scholar House provides.

“At Family Scholar House, we are grateful to the Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation for funding that expands access to resource kiosks in six regional locations,” said Cathe Dykstra, president and CEO of Family Scholar House. “The success of MyKY.info is due to user-friendly design but also the enthusiasm of our resource partners and kiosk sponsors like Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation.”
