Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation Donates $10,000 to United Negro College Fund Scholarship Program

LOUISVILLE, Ky., August 4, 2023 – The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare , (“Passport”) made a $10,000 donation to the United Negro College Fund’s (UNCF) Scholarship Program at the UNCF Leadership Luncheon at Louisville Marriott Downtown.
UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. Each year, UNCF awards more than $100 million in scholarships to students attending more than 1,100 schools across the U.S. UNCF has helped more than 500,000 students earn their college degrees since its founding. UNCF supports Kentucky students alone with over $250,000 in scholarship dollars annually.
“We’re excited to team up with UNCF to provide critical funding that will empower the next generation of leaders, enabling growth and leadership through HBCU educational opportunities,” said Ryan Sadler, plan president of Passport by Molina Healthcare. “This important initiative is consistent with UNCF’s longstanding tradition of working with corporate partners to support HBCUs and their scholarship programs as they prepare students for opportunities in the 21st century workplace.”
According to UNCF, the six-year graduation rate for a UNCF African American scholarship recipient is 70%. This is 11% higher than the national average and 31% higher than the national average for all African Americans. More than 10,000 scholarships and internships offered through 400 programs available through UNCF go a long way in helping minorities overcome financial obstacles to getting a college education.
