Molina Healthcare and The New Mexico Department of Health Ramp up Efforts to Support Smoking Cessation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., June 2, 2025 – Molina Healthcare of New Mexico (“Molina”) has joined forces with the New Mexico Department of Health to help New Mexicans kick the smoking, vaping, and tobacco habit by offering a variety of support resources including the Quit For Life program.

“The journey to quit smoking, vaping, dipping or chewing can be challenging due to the highly addictive nature of tobacco, and nicotine products,” said Dr. Robran-Marquez, Darcie, plan president of Molina Healthcare of New Mexico. “We want Molina members and all New Mexico residents to know there is an abundance of resources available to help.”

Approximately one in five New Mexico high school students have used e-cigarettes or vape products. Smoking accounts for more deaths than alcohol, AIDS, car crashes, drugs, murders, and suicides combined in New Mexico.

Molina offers the following smoking cessation resources to all members:

24/7 support via call, text, or chat with a coach: Meet with a certified coach to design your personal quit plan or join group sessions for support.
Self-screening for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT): See what options of NRT are good for you: nicotine patches, lozenges, or gum.
Online support: Access online tools like personalized quit plans and group coaching to help manage your triggers.
