Molina Employees Support Community with Housing and Food Assistance
Dozens of Molina volunteers put their goodwill to good use handing out food to the underserved in Homestead. Farm Share, a nonprofit food bank, held a drive-thru event for hundreds of families. Our employees packed bags with fresh produce, a protein, deserts, bread and more, and then distributed them to participants. Radio station WEDR 99Jamz was on hand playing music and promoting the event. With over 40 employees on scene and with high energy and good cheer, the event went smoothly.
Molina also supports the Family Self-Sufficiency, Pasco County Housing Authority along with many other housing agencies and communities working hard to end homelessness in Pasco County. In May, we had the opportunity to share our HOME pilot program and the benefits that go along with engaging our community in this opportunity. HOME (Health Outcomes through Meaningful Engagement) is a housing program providing additional services to those with SMI/SUD or co-occurring challenges. Services include tenancy sustaining and transitional housing assistance, emotional and behavioral crisis help, and peer support.
