Virtual Panel: Strengthening California’s Health Care Workforce

The MolinaCares Accord in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of California hosted a virtual panel on Strengthening the Health Care Workforce in California.

The virtual panel was hosted by Neeta Alengadan, associate vice president of healthcare services for Molina Healthcare of California; moderated by Jeffrey R. Lewis, president and chief executive officer of the Legacy Health Endowment; and welcome remarks from California State Senator Lena Gonzalez.

Expert panelists included Lisa Folberg, chief executive officer of the California Academy of Family Physicians; Dr. Cozzette Lyons-Jones, president of the Association of Black Women Physicians; and Andrea Schwab-Galindo, chief executive officer of the Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and board member for the California Primary Care Association.  Panelists addressed topics including the provider pipeline, access to education and training programs, efforts to improve diversity, and how COVID has exacerbated the workforce shortage.
