The MolinaCares Accord Donates $5,000 to Living Independence Network Corporation During Idaho Gives Week
BOISE, Idaho – April 29, 2021 –In support of Idaho Gives Week, The MolinaCares Accord (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Idaho (“Molina”), is donating $5,000 to Living Independence Network Corporation (LINC). Idaho Gives is a program of the Idaho Nonprofit Center, designed to bring the state together by raising funding and awareness for Idaho nonprofits.
“Molina is dedicated to supporting a holistic approach to health,” said Marnie Packard, vice president of Molina Healthcare of Idaho. “Taking into account social and economic needs, Molina recognizes the critical need for safe and supportive housing in the communities we serve. This donation to Living Independence Network Corporation is an example of Molina’s commitment to making communities stronger by addressing housing insecurities and other social determinants of health such as employment.”
The $5,000 grant will support the following:
- Information and referrals to help people locate resources they need to live independently or transition and integrate into the community such as housing, employment, transportation, health care, Individualized Education Program plans for students, recreation opportunities, volunteer and civic duty opportunities.
- General transition services to assist those residing in care facilities integrate back into the community or assist in the transition from being unhoused to maintaining stable, long-term housing.
- Independent living skills training to provide people with the skills necessary to become self-advocates so they can enjoy life and work in their community. LINC teaches people how to rent an apartment, interview for work (not only to find a job but to keep it), interface with Idaho Health & Welfare (IDHW) and the Social Security Administration (SSA), access services and programs, go back to school and more.
- Employment services to provide work incentives and benefits counseling, employment education and planning as well as tapping resources to help people secure employment. LINC also helps employers understand how they can benefit from hiring a worker with a disability including tax credit, recruitment and retention.
“We are grateful for The MolinaCares Accord’s support,” said Jeremy Maxand, executive director of LINC. “These funds will help people throughout Boise, Caldwell and Twin Falls remain independent and in their own home.”
