The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation Grants $25,000 to Operation Warm in Support of Coat and Shoe Giveaway For 1,000 Children Across Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 22, 2026 – The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Utah (“Molina”), donated $25,000 to Operation Warm to provide winter coats and shoes for 1,000 underserved children in local communities across Utah. This donation will help children stay warm and healthy during back-to-school season and beyond.
For many families, preparing for a new school year comes with significant financial challenges. Families spend an average of $864 on clothing, shoes, electronics, and other school-related supplies every year. At the same time, 8.5% of Utah children under age 17 live in poverty, making back-to-school expenses particularly difficult for families.
“Partnerships like this help us reach children with the essential items they need to keep warm and feel supported,” said Grace Sica, executive director of Operation Warm. “We are grateful to Molina for helping bring brand-new coats and shoes to Utah families, easing a seasonal burden for parents and giving children comfort and confidence during the winter months.”
With this funding from The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, Operation Warm will be able to provide 1,000 pairs of shoes and coats for children in need, greatly improving a child’s health, comfort, confidence, and ability to focus in school during the winter months. This grant reflects Molina’s ongoing commitment to addressing health-related social needs and supporting the overall health and well-being of children and families across Utah.
