SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 5, 2026 –  Molina Healthcare of Utah (“Molina”) and Valley Behavioral Health  kicked off the summer season by hosting a Community BBQ and Resource Fair on Tuesday, June 2. The event brought together residents, community-based organizations, and health advocates to support individuals and families across Salt Lake City.

In Utah, nearly half of adults and more than half of youth are unable to access needed behavioral healthcare. Through this event, Molina and Valley Behavioral Health helped close that gap by connecting Utahns to essential tools, services, and care, right in their neighborhood.

“Strengthening behavioral healthcare starts with meeting people where they are,” said Jared Sanford, president and chief executive officer of Valley Behavioral Health. “Through our partnership with Molina, we are equipping individuals with the connections to ensure more people know how to access the resources and care they need for better health outcomes.”

Held at Valley Behavioral Health’s Adult Outpatient Center in North Valley, the event welcomed several hundred attendees and more than 15 community partners, providing access to behavioral health resources, social services, and local support networks. Participants also enjoyed a complimentary meal, connected with community resources, and received summer kits filled with hygiene products, snacks, sunscreen, and first aid supplies.

“Strong communities are built through meaningful partnerships with trusted, local organizations,” said Brandon Hendrickson, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Utah. “Working alongside Valley Behavioral Health, this event reflects our shared commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of Salt Lake City residents.”
