SACRAMENTO, Calif., Nov. 21, 2024 – Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina”) and River City Food Bank recently unveiled a new refrigerated truck that will help the organizations in their shared mission to combat food insecurity in Sacramento County.
A special celebration was held to reveal the truck, purchased with a $50,000 grant from Molina, and to show appreciation to those who regularly volunteer at the food bank, sorting and setting up food, so that local residents can select what they want and need.
As part of the festivities, Molina presented an additional $10,000 grant to the organization, as well as special gifts for food bank volunteers. Each volunteer received an apron, duffle bag and t-shirt.
“We are proud to partner with River City Food Bank and the work they are doing to feed seniors, children and families across the county,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California. “We are especially grateful for the volunteers who help to make it happen.”
“At River City Food Bank, our goal is to ensure our communities have access to high-quality food,” said Amanda McCarthy, CEO of River City Food Bank. “We are thankful for the support of partners like Molina and their efforts to meet the needs of underserved communities.”
