LOUISVILLE, Ky. Oct. 9, 2024 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare (“Passport”), presented a $15,000 check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana. The funds will help support the organization’s mentorship, academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character and citizenship programs for underserved youth across the region.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana serves nearly 3,300 youth annually across four locations in the region and serves more than 26,000 meals to kids annually. The clubs are open to children and teens ages 6 through 18 and provide them with a safe, positive environment, as well as resources to help them lead healthier lifestyles, excel in school, and make positive decisions.

“MolinaCares is proud to invest in the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana to support its mission of inspiring and enabling young people, especially those most in need, to realize and develop their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” said Ryan Sadler, plan president of Passport by Molina Healthcare. “This great organization provides essential and valuable resources for our next generation to help them grow into the best versions of themselves.”

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana touts a 95% high school graduation rate among its program participants. Through programs such as Career Launch, Diploma2Degrees, Smart Moves, Keystone Club, and more, youth 6-18 years of age have access to unmatched resources and lessons that transform their lives. Research points to the many benefits of mentoring for young people, including better attitudes about school, healthier relationships and lifestyles choice, enhanced self-esteem and self-confidence, and stronger relationships with parents, teachers and peers.

“By supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs, Passport by Molina and the Molina Cares Foundation is not just investing in the potential and humanity of young people; they’re also helping to build a healthier, stronger community. They are supporting programs that offer essential resources for young people to thrive academically, develop character, and lead healthy lives,” said Daryle W. Unseld, Jr., President and CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana.”
