CINCINNATI, Ohio, August 7, 2024 – Molina Healthcare of Ohio (“Molina”) awarded a $30,000 grant to Rosemary’s Babies Co. to fund the nonprofit’s programs and services in its new Holloway House and Resource Center. Rosemary’s Babies Co. supports teen parents in the Cincinnati area by providing them with safe and supportive housing, education and resources such as workforce training, clothing support, and free baby/child supplies.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the teen pregnancy rate in Ohio is 15.4 per 1,000 births, ranking above 30 other states. Approximately 77% of pregnancies in adolescence are unplanned and can have increased risks for preterm birth, school dropout, poor health and poverty. Rosemary’s Babies Co. addresses the root causes of these risks by helping young mothers access food, health care, housing and other vital resources.
“Young Ohioans deserve a healthy beginning to life. and we are proud to support the work Rosemary’s Babies Co. is doing to help both mother and child,” said Ami Cole, plan president for Molina Healthcare of Ohio. “We look forward to the growth of the Holloway House and are excited to help fund its future services.”
The Molina grant builds upon a strong relationship with Rosemary’s Babies Co. Previously Molina has sponsored maternal health events, supported fundraisers for the organization and filled bags of baby items for new mothers.
“Rosemary’s Babies Co. is excited to expand our partnership with Molina Healthcare of Ohio in our new facility, Holloway House & Resource Center,” said Rosemary Oglesby-Henry, founder and CEO of Rosemary’s Babies Co. “We look forward to introducing our babies to a provider who delivers effective, reliable and affordable health care throughout Ohio and now directly through Rosemary’s Babies as an onsite partner. With this dedication, Molina is leaving a legacy and supporting our young moms in building their own.”
