EL MONTE, Calif., Sept. 28, 2021 – Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina”), in collaboration with The
MolinaCares Accord, ChapCare, County of L.A. Public Health and Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors Chair Hilda Solis, Supervisor to the First District, hosted COVID-19 vaccine clinics in El Monte on Monday, September 20 and 27, 2021. The clinics are part of a series of vaccine clinics that Molina has hosted and continues to host, in cities like Pomona, El Monte, Chula Vista, and San Bernardino as part of their efforts to address inequities in health outcomes throughout Southern California.
“My sincerest thanks to Molina Healthcare for their on-going leadership in organizing this series of vaccine clinics in El Monte,” shared Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Chair Hilda L. Solis, Supervisor to the First District. “We know the vaccine is safe and effective against COVID-19, and to that end, I am proud of the work Molina is doing to diligently get shots into the arms of our residents, especially in communities of color like Pomona and El Monte that are experiencing some of the highest case numbers during this latest surge. Molina is one of our own and for more than 40 years has delivered high quality care to families throughout the County. That mission continues today with this vaccine clinic series as we work together to put an end to the pandemic.”
“We hope that by bringing vaccination clinics directly to communities that need them, we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and empower Californians to reclaim a sense of normalcy in their daily lives,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California. “Getting a vaccine will not only protect those receiving the vaccine, but also those they love. Molina will continue to sponsor events like these to help improve the health and lives of Californians.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Molina Healthcare on this important effort to vaccinate members of the
community as part of our organizations’ commitment to total wellness,” said ChapCare’s Chief Executive Officer, Margaret B. Martinez, “Molina, like ChapCare, prioritizes underserved populations and initiatives that promote health equity, which is something we need desperately amid the current health crisis. These vaccine clinics are a huge step in the right direction to improving the wellbeing of California families, and we really appreciate Molina’s leadership in accomplishing this.”
The vaccine clinic in El Monte provided Pfizer vaccines (to those ages 12+) and Moderna vaccines (to those ages 18+). Future vaccine clinics will take place on Monday, October 4, 2021; and Monday,
October 11, 2021, at ChapCare Peck, 3703 Peck Rd. Ste. A-C in El Monte. All clinics are open from
