Molina Healthcare Providing Relief for New Mexicans Affected by Wildfires and Flooding
New Mexicans are grappling with multiple disasters. In the south, raging wildfires have left thousands displaced while in the north, burn scar flooding has triggered a drinking water crisis in Las Vegas. The state has experienced extreme weather swings—first fire, then heavy rain, followed by debris flows and dangerous flooding—with more intense rain expected. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by these natural disasters.

Wildfire Relief Donations
There is an ongoing need for supplies for residents displaced by recent wildfires, and Molina is continuing to monitor the situation and fill gaps. Molina hosted a supply drive for victims of the Ruidoso area wildfires, donating and distributing food, drinks, diapers and hygiene products to residents in need that are sheltering at Eastern New Mexico Fairgrounds, New Mexico Military Institute, and Eastern New Mexico University – Roswell, as well as communities of the Mescalero Apache Tribe. With the help of our dedicated employee volunteers, Molina has hosted game nights in Roswell shelters with free ice cream and arts and crafts sessions to bring some joy and comfort to individuals affected during this challenging time.
Water Donation to Las Vegas
With the water supply in Las Vegas contaminated, non-essential businesses were ordered to shut down, leaving residents with fewer places to turn to for resources. To provide relief, Molina supplied over 3,800 bottles of water to residents on a first come, first serve basis in the parking lot of a local Walgreens.
Donation Drives for all Impacted by Natural Disasters
Molina quickly pulled together a donation drive for victims of the wildfires and flooding at our Albuquerque office. Donations included 15 gallons of water, over 50 pounds of non-perishable food items, and socks and underwear for children, men and women. All the donations were matched by Molina and were donated to First Baptist Church of Ruidoso’s support shelter, where Red Cross identified that supplies were needed most. Waters will be coordinated for distribution with the City of Las Vegas to support individuals in need- especially elderly individuals and those who are unable to leave their homes.
