Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation Donates $15,000 to Home of the Innocents for Therapy Program

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 9, 2023 — The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Passport by Molina Healthcare (“Passport”), presented a $15,000 donation to Home of the Innocents. The funds will help Home of the Innocents to implement their multisystemic therapy services (MST) program for adolescents in the Greater Louisville area.
Multisystemic therapy service (MST) is an evidence-based program tailored to the needs of each family, supporting children ages 12 through 17 who show chronic or serious anti-social behavior and have a high risk of out-of-home placement. The program uses a home-based model of service delivery, including therapy that educates families on the effects of trauma. Addressing past trauma can prevent it from manifesting into psychiatric disorders, a child’s removal from the home, or detainment in a juvenile justice facility.

The multisystemic approach focuses on the entire ecology of children’s lives, addressing multiple factors that contribute to antisocial behavior, including factors at the family, school, and community levels.
Studies show among those who have participated in MST, 91% of youth live at home, 86% are in school or working, and 87% have no juvenile arrests at the close of treatments. More than 200,000 families nationwide have been positively impacted by MST.

Serving more than 10,000 children and their families last year, the Home of the Innocent programs include a safe haven for at-risk children, clinical treatment services, crisis and intervention services, therapeutic loving foster care and adoption services, a pediatric convalescent center for children who are medically complex or terminally ill, and an integrated pediatric medical center.
