The Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation (“MolinaCares”), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Florida (“Molina”), presented a $20,000 check to the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County to support high-risk pregnant women, mothers dealing with depression and anxiety, and minority women battling hypertension and diabetes.
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County has served the area for more than 30 years, focusing on zip codes where residents are at a high risk of infant death, poor maternal and child health and child endangerment.
The MolinaCares donation will help fund the agency’s core services including:
Moms4Wellness – a program supporting Black and Hispanic pregnant women to reduce gestational hypertension and diabetes. Services include health education, doula support, cooking demonstrations, and nutrition counselling.
The Mahogany Project – a health education program for high-risk pregnant women. Services include childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition education, assistance with federal programs, and health education counselling.
Mothers Overcoming Mental Stress (M.O.M.S.) – provides counseling, parenting education, case management services, and support groups to those experiencing depression, anxiety, and difficulty with the baby during pregnancy and postpartum.
