Why: The pandemic exacerbated inequities across demographics in California. Minority communities have experienced disproportionate health disparities throughout the pandemic because of preexisting conditions, higher rates of unemployment, housing and food insecurity and lower vaccination rates. As workplaces reopen, children return to in-person learning and governments legislate amongst an ongoing pandemic, there is a critical need for cross-sector collaboration to ensure communities have access to high quality care and services to improve health outcomes.
