MolinaCares and Molina Healthcare of Florida Giving Back This Holiday Season
This holiday season, MolinaCares, in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of Florida, supported multiple local organizations by providing aid, donations, and volunteers for multiple community events assisting the elderly, serving and packaging food, and partnering with local toy drives.
Below are some of the efforts of our team members during the holiday season:
MolinaCares Partners with Farm Share on Food Distribution Event
MolinaCares volunteers arrived in large numbers at one of the largest food distribution events of the year to help serve 1,000 families and present a check of $100,000 dollars as part of Molina’s “Operation Hurricane Ian Relief” to support Farm Share’s mission to eliminate food insecurity across the state of Florida.
Community members received much-needed food such as sweet potatoes, various types of sliced breads, canned foods of corn, spinach, pasta sauce, asparagus, cucumbers and squash, pasta, and a whole chicken.
MolinaCares and Branches Prepares Meals for Families on Thanksgiving
On Thanksgiving Day, MolinaCares volunteers helped prepare Thanksgiving cooked meals for 5,000 people in the Florida City community. The food was cooked fresh on site and included green beans, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauces, and a slice of pie for dessert. Once the food was prepared, an assembly line of volunteers sorted the food into trays, packed them in to-go containers, and sent them off for delivery to homes across the local community.
MolinaCares Joins Silver Senior Holiday Celebration
Molina Healthcare and MolinaCares volunteers helped our partners Young Dreams Community Outreach with their Silver Senior Holiday Celebration. Volunteers decorated the Christmas tree and helped with games such as bingo and pass the Santa Hat game. The seniors had a great time celebrating the holidays!
MolinaCares and Farm Share Food Distribution Drive-Thru
MolinaCares volunteers arrived early to help distribute bags of food to over 500 families. The bags – supplied by Farm Share – included beans, canned goods, bread, and a large chicken. We thank Upper Assembly of God church for hosting the event!
Molina Healthcare with Young Dreams Community Outreach Bear Delivery
MolinaCares volunteers helped Young Dreams Community Outreach donate toys for the inpatient children at the Nickolas Children’s Hospital. Molina Healthcare donated teddy bears just in time for Christmas to comfort children during their stay at the hospital.
MolinaCares Provides Toys for Children at PPEC Glory to God Daycare Center
MolinaCares with partners Young Dreams Community Outreach volunteered at PPEC Glory to God medical daycare center in Miami to provide toys for children in need. Santa Claus made a special appearance to help hand out over 100 toys!
