Molina Healthcare of Florida Partners with North Fort Myers High School To Distribute Supplies In Response to Hurricane Ian
Molina Healthcare of Florida (Molina) employee volunteers jumped into action this week to respond to Hurricane Ian, which has disrupted the lives of so many Floridians in need of the most basic supplies. Molina employees, some who have also been impacted by the storm, teamed up with North Fort Myers High School (NFMHS) to distribute more than 3,000 items to neighbors and community members in the Fort Myers area.
In partnership with representatives from NFMHS who wanted to do something meaningful for members of their community, Molina’s community engagement team distributed household staples, such as batteries, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and toothbrushes, as well as coloring books, crayons, and baby wipes for kids. Hundreds of meals were also served on site by Community Cooperative Inc.
“Our hearts go out to all Floridians displaced or affected by Hurricane Ian’s catastrophic damage and Molina remains committed to supporting its longstanding Florida non-profit partners by boosting their capacity to deliver food, water, and other resources desperately needed during this critical recovery period,” said Mike Jones, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Florida. “Our goal is to complement the incredible response by so many organizations under the leadership of the state.”
