Molina Healthcare of California Provides $5,000 Grant to the Family Assistance Program of Victorville, CA

VICTORVILLE, CA – Jan. 4, 2022 – Molina Healthcare of California (“Molina”), today helped support the Family Assistance Program of Victorville, CA by donating $5,000 to provide ethnic hygiene and hair care products for those in need.
“All Californians deserve to be happy and healthy in the New Year,” said Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare of California. “We hope our partnership with Family Assistance Program will relieve stress on our most vulnerable communities by providing funding and suitable hygiene care products to community members in need.”
Victorville’s Family Assistance Program operates two runaway/homeless youth shelters, a homeless youth street outreach team, youth drop-in centers, Next Step re-entry program, community centers, anti-human trafficking program, and other programs and services to support the needs in Victor Valley, San Bernardino, and Morongo Basin communities.The site provides support and resources to individuals and families in need.
One unfulfilled need is ethnic hygiene products for their unsheltered clients. The site has a closet full of donated hair care and hygiene products, but most donations do not include products for ethnic hair. During a check presentation on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, Molina provided ethnic shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner products,in addition to a $5,000 grant to secure these supplies.
